Steelers safety Troy Polamalu named AP Defensive Player of the Year


Polamalu came in first with 17 votes, with a close Clay Matthews garnering 15 votes. I thought the award was Matthews' to lose, but I guess I was wrong. Don't get me wrong-Polamalu is is quite deserving of the honor.
