The Lower Ninth Ward, 5 years later

Obviously rebuilding has been taking place, but a complete restoration is still way too unrealistic. It's sad to know how a natural disaster could be mishandled so terribly, in our own country no less.

Salute to the dude that told our team "God bless ya'll for all your efforts" when the 6 of my homies and I were leaned against a fence under the the sun, exhausted from gutting houses all day long in the lower ninth ward.
And to the older gentleman who stood on the roof of his two story house (seen in the back of the team picture) while his first and second floor flooded away with 60 years of his memories. I do not know their names, but their stories and words will never be forgotten.

Aug 29 marks the five year mark of when Katrina left its impression on New Orleans.

  1. To think that this happened in America...the country we all immigrated too cause our own country was a fuckery at the time. We still haven't recovered from Katrina and god knows how long 'til we recover from the oil spill. Our country is more worried about war spending and protecting us from foreigners that are thousands of miles away across a fucking ocean. We've spent BILLIONS on that, but we cant spend some money here to fix our own homeland....WTF.
